What equipment is needed to take the LILATE?
Taking the LILATE requires a reliable technical setup to avoid interruptions or connection issues. To approach your assessment with confidence, it is essential to have properly prepared and tested equipment. This ensures a smooth session from start to finish, without bugs or technical difficulties.
Make sure you have the necessary equipment before starting.
Computer equipment
- A personal computer in good working condition (tablets and smartphones are not accepted).
- Google Chrome installed and updated to the latest version.
Audio, video & communication
- A functioning webcam, essential for identification and interaction with the examiner.
- An operational microphone (built-in or external).
- Headphones are recommended for optimal sound quality, although speakers are acceptable if the audio is clear.
Internet connection
- A high-speed, stable, and reliable internet connection to ensure smooth videoconferencing.
Checks to perform before the test
- Connect using Google Chrome, installed and updated to the latest version.
- Test your microphone and, if it is not recognized or appears disabled, try a headset with a microphone (USB or jack) and check that the headset is properly connected and selected as the audio input on your computer.
- Perform a full test of your equipment in advance: webcam, microphone, audio, internet connection, and browser.
- If the microphone is authorized but remains unavailable during the FlashLevel assessment, use Google Chrome and try connecting or disconnecting headphones or earphones with a microphone, then test again.
- Make sure you will be in a quiet, well-lit environment without interruptions.
- Prepare your ID card or passport in advance.
If the microphone still does not work, contact the LILATE centre at lilate@lingueo.com before the test, providing the test link and describing the equipment and browsers you have tried.
