What is the LILATE certificate ?

LILATE is the first adaptive language assessment certificate that allows all professionals in the job market to assess a candidate's operational language skills, before or after training, as well as independently.

This certificate is based on a comprehensive evaluation of language competencies, specifically designed to measure how well a candidate can understand, speak, and interact in a professional context.

🧑‍💻 Assessment Process

The LILATE test takes place via videoconference with a native‑speaker examiner and lasts up to 60 minutes. It can be taken once the training programme is completed.

🎓 Results and certificate

Results are available quickly, within 24 hours, allowing users to easily access useful information for hiring a job seeker, for employee training, or for professional mobility.

The level is awarded according to the CEFR scale (A1 to C2).

The certificate can be downloaded directly from your Lingueo account. It does not have an expiration date; however, some employers may request a certificate issued within the last two years.

🏛️ Recognition

The LILATE professional certification is registered in the France Compétences registry and recognized by many training organisations that include it in their training programmes.

🌐 A multilingual test by the French company Lingueo

LILATE is a multilingual test developed by Lingueo to meet the needs of many companies.

More than just a language assessment tool: this adaptive online test was designed to help professionals and training organisations evaluate operational language skills in over ten languages for their employees or trainees — before, during, and after training.

  • A human examiner assesses both written and oral skills of the candidate.
  • The test is designed for companies, business schools, universities and training organisations.

What do the studies say about the future of certification?

In its May 2017 study "Assessing English Skills in French Companies," Linguaid reveals that for training managers, language assessment in a training process should be :

  • Accurate and reliable (90%)
  • Easy to organize (81%)
  • Online (63%)
  • For organizations and their clients, the objective of the assessment must therefore be focused on operational professional skills (mainly oral), be widely deployed, simple to organize, online and certifying.

Digitalization has a strong impact on training practices: 63% of training managers and 96% of organizations prefer an online evaluation system to reduce costs and simplify deployment.

LILATE has all of the above characteristics and responds precisely to these new requirements.

🌱 LILATE and the environment

The LILATE certification is 100% digital, there is no printed version to reduce paper usage and avoid inefficient postal services.

Of course, candidates are free to print the certificate if they wish, but we encouraged them to keep the digital version whenever possible.
